Justin Rose is on fire at the Farmers Insurance Open, pulling away from the pack in pursuit of his 13th PGA Tour victory! With a commanding six-shot lead, he's making a statement.
Farmers Insurance Open Leaderboard (After Round 3):
- Justin Rose (England) -21
- Joel Dahmen (USA) -15
- S-Woo Kim (South Korea), R Hisatsune (Japan) -13
- M McGreevy (USA) -12
- M McNealy (USA), Seamus Power (Ireland), S Jaeger (Germany) -11 ...Selected others: Brooks Koepka (USA) -2
Rose, the 45-year-old English golfer, showcased his mastery on Saturday, carding a 68 to extend his lead. This puts him in prime position to claim his 13th PGA win.
But here's where it gets interesting: Rose's lead after 54 holes is the largest since Tiger Woods' eight-shot advantage in 2008. And with the tournament's best winning score being 22-under (achieved by Woods and George Burns), Rose is within striking distance of history.
His closest competitor, Joel Dahmen, admits it'll be a tough chase. "My only hope is if he has an off day," Dahmen said, acknowledging Rose's consistent performance.
Rose, the 2025 Masters runner-up, is no stranger to success. His last PGA win came in August at the FedEx St Jude Championship. This time, he's determined to close the deal.
Despite a few bogeys that trimmed his lead, Rose remains confident. "You've got to do everything right," he said, respecting the game and the challenges ahead.
Meanwhile, five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, returning to the PGA Tour after his LIV Golf stint, struggled with a 73, leaving him tied for 61st. And Seamus Power's hopes faded with a 74, putting him 10 shots behind Rose.
Controversial Question: Is Rose's dominance a sign of a changing guard in golf, or will the veterans like Woods and Koepka reclaim their throne? Share your thoughts below!
